Buying and owning guns requires in-depth safety measures. Gun stores are no exception and they take safety precautions seriously. This video explains some of the do’s and don’t’s of going to a gun store.

If you are unfamiliar with gun stores, it can be pretty overwhelming to step into. There are a wide variety of guns and it can be difficult to know where to look for the option you want. That’s what the staff are there for. Tell them what you’re looking for. If you have a specific gun in mind, look at alternatives that are similar just to get a better idea of what’s out there.

Remember that a gun is a tool, and you want the right tool for the job you need done. So go into the shop with an idea of what you are going to use the gun for, rather than a specific model.

If you are an experienced gun owner and you overhear a conversation between a new gun owner and a shop employee, hold back your urge to give your two cents. That’s the salesperson’s job, not yours, and what works for you may not work for another.
