Local gymnastics classes are excellent activities for young children. They can socialize and participate in healthy exercise, strengthening important inter- and intra-personal characteristics. Though most start with a gymnastic class for kids at the age of four, adult gymnastic classes can also be both fun and beneficial. Gymnastic classes for adults provide an opportunity for fitness and fun that is unparalleled by other activities.

Improving hand-eye coordination, developing core strength, and improving body awareness can be accomplished even if you aren’t ready to perform in the Olympics. Get yourself ready for local gymnastics classes by practicing these gymnastics-inspired conditioning exercises and drills.

L Hold

Sit on the floor with your legs out in front of you. Push through your arms and try to lift your legs and butt off the floor. Make your first few attempts with your legs bent and try to straighten them as you continue your practice. Do eight attempts, holding yourself as long as you can, even if it’s just for a few seconds.

Handstands

Put your hands on the floor with your arms straightened. Start with a small kick and try to support your weight on your hands, even if it’s only for a second. As you strengthen your arms, back, and core and improve coordination, kick up harder until you are all the way upside down. Perform the exercise against the wall once you can kick up to develop balance. Try 10 handstands for each set.

Planche

Put your hands on the floor and your feet on the edge of a couch. Keep your body in a high push-up position while you lean your shoulders as far past your hands as possible without bending your arms. Hold for five seconds and do five reps.

When you’re able to perform those exercises, you’re ready for local gymnastics classes. Start working and call your local gym to learn more about the classes offered in your area. Find out more about this topic here: www.arrowheadgymnasticsaz.com
